Our mission is to establish environments of safety and support for both children and adults in the Congo so that their lives may be transformed as they realize the benefits of health and education and acquire the skills that lead to sustainable incomes.

It starts with saving the children.

Orphans growing and thriving at Ishara House

Goal One - SAFETY

Ishara House offer orphans a refuge from their struggles on the street. Children are brought to us dirty, malnourished and often sick with no one to care for them. Their own parents and relatives have been victims of conflict, poverty and disease. At Ishara House these children receive comfort, a clean living space, healthcare, food and clothes, as well as the gift of school.

Goal Two - SUPPORT

The Ishara House “family” embraces all its members and share the joys and challenges of raising active and growing children. With your financial assistance, our house fathers and mothers have the resources to provide a healthy caring environment that ensures the children’s ability to thrive and evolve into confident young adults.

Goal Three - EDUCATION

Books, uniforms and paid school fees are just the beginning of the Ishara House tools used to enlighten our students. Their days offer time for study, organized extracurricular programs like music and art, and special outreach teaching Peace and Conflict resolution. Your financial support is an investment in the academic opportunity and emotional strengthening of these children.

Before and after

From dirty rags to clean uniforms…

From bare cut feet to comfy shoes…

From fearful looks to thumbs-up smiles…

Ishara House helps children flourish by providing housing, food, schooling and medical care all in a safe, nurturing, loving environment.

We envision a peaceful and prosperous Congo, where people have access to housing and support, and the education and skills training that lead to long term sustainable incomes and thriving self-supporting communities.
